Out of the Darkness Walk
Grab your walking shoes and get your stretching in because Sheridan County is hosting a Wyoming Out Of The Darkness suicide prevention walk Saturday, September 11 at Grinnell Plaza at 11 a.m. This is a national event occurring in cities all across the country. It marks the end of National Suicide Prevention Week, September 5-11. As of August 30, 18 teams have been formed and raised just about $14,000 to benefit local and national American Foundation for Suicide Prevention research and education programs.
This is a great opportunity to come together in support of suicide prevention and remember those who are no longer with us. BJ Ayers, a Cheyenne mother who lost two of her three sons to suicide and founded Grace For 2 Brothers, will be a guest speaker during the opening ceremony. Live music, lunch and plenty of suicide prevention material will be provided.
