Crisis in Our Community

Two Wyoming brothers are dead by suicide within just a few years of each other, and their mother has found the courage to tell her story. In a recent Wyoming Tribune Eagle article, BJ Ayers tells the story of her sons' suicides and the nonprofit she's started to help prevent and raise awareness about suicide, as well as support those who have lost a loved one.

According to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, "'I think we have a very real crisis in our community,' [Ayers] said.

"Wyoming has often led the country in its suicide rate, which is about double the national rate. According to the Suicide Prevention Resource Center, it was the ninth-leading cause of death in the state from 1999 to 2005, with an average of 1.8 suicides every week in the state."

So what do you think is the cause of so many suicides?

What is the solution?

Is our community really in crisis?
