Alternative Country
So there's this new genre of country music called "alternative country". It's got your standard country sound, but it's less "pop" and the lyrics are darker, bleaker and sometimes downright depressing. This music totally speaks to a lot of people, but it's not for everyone. What music really hits you hard, either bringing you down or picking you up?

I don't need anything that is going to drag me down. Of course I can relate to the dark music, but it doesn't do me any good to wallow around in it. Hate, and discontent, I don't need it, life is to short.
All country sucks! So does rap.
